Contact Lens Fittings

If you are experiencing any difficulties while wearing your current contact lenses. Dr. Bakir will be happy to figure out why. Possible causes could be infection, allergies, a poor fit, improper disposal time, or improper storage of your contacts.

Treatment and Management of Ocular Diseases

Dr. Bakir will be happy to check on any concerns you may be having with red or irritated eyes. If she finds that your condition is complex or needs further treatment and management she will refer you to a specialist.  Some eye diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration have no symptoms when in their early stages. Early detection is key to limiting the amount of vision loss. Retinal Fundus Screening Photography can help with early detection and  is available at the office for a nominal fee. Dr. Bakir recommends all patients regardless of age have the screening photography taken at their yearly eye exam.

Diabetic Eye Health Exams

Did you know that diabetics should have an annual eye exam with dilation? Did you know that a diabetic eye exam is different from a routine eye exam for glasses or contacts? Dr. Bakir will perform all tests necessary to discover whether diabetes has caused changes to your eyes or vision. Dr. Bakir may also need to take a series of pictures of the back of your eye if complications are found, the photos will be used to monitor for changes in your condition over time. At the end of the exam she will also provide you with a report to present to your primary care physician, endocrinologist, or diabetic counselor. If a referral to specialist is needed to manage your condition she will help schedule that for you as well.

Ocular Allergies

Dr. Bakir will be happy to assist you in the treatment and management of ocular allergies.

Vision Problems

If you are concerned with newly developed difficulties with reading, double vision, eye turn, or headaches Dr. Bakir will be able to search for any ocular or visual cause for these problems. If she finds your troubles are complex she will send you to the correct specialist for a timely treatment and management of these symptoms.
